You would expect to pay far more for these great tongs!! I use them every day when cooking, especially when frying. GET SOME.I was looking for small tongs because I am only five feet tall and have small hands. I bought some 6-inch cheap plastic tongs and they were pure garbage, which I returned. (Thank heavens for Amazon's easy return policy.) So then I bought this model -- got the 9-inch length. I've had it for over a year and it still looks new and shiny and locks great. The price is right and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 9-inch length if you're like me: short, with short arm length and small hands. I'd buy it again if I needed another one and I would feel totally comfortable buying this as a gift.There's not much to review about stuff like this, except that they work well, the lock mechanism is easy to use (even with just one hand, as I often find myself doing in the kitchen), and they haven't failed on me yet. I do wish the body portion of the tongs was sealed off from food/liquids to make them easier to clean, but whenever something gets stuck in the hollow core of the tongs, a quick scrub with a kitchen brush takes care of it.Perfect for my needs, I have a longer one and wanted a shorter handled one. Good price; good product.These are great. I just wish I had measured out 9” before ordering, because I wanted shorter one. I have a pair of 9” tongs! My mistake!I love the 12" length of this utensil. Very easy to lock and unlock . Cleanup is quick and easy.These are clearly a dupe for the OXO brand tongs, which I have in the 12". I was looking for something smaller and thought this could work. Unfortunately, these tongs are very lightweight and cheap feeling. When closing the tongs, it isn't smooth, yet.It pauses right before it closes. It totally interrupts the motion just like how you read my last sentence. Their metal is thinner all around and the springs are thinner, while oxo is just much more heavy duty. Sure, if you're just looking for a cheap, basic pair of tongs, it could work. But for me, the pause right before it closes is SO annoying. Pictures attached so you can see the difference too.Pros: Single piece construction, dishwasher safe, easy to wash. Nice and shiny!Cons: I wish there was some way to keep this closed. I leave this in my shallow drawer and it pops open and jams up my drawer when I try to open it. Also, I think the top spatula is a "little" too small. I wish it was maybe 3/4 of the size of the bottom spatula - I sometimes can't get a great grip on something that is heavy and larger than the spatula (such as a steak or chicken breast).
