Waterproof 40" Square Fire Pit Cover - Outdoor Patio Protection

The sun was hard on the material over time on the last one we purchasedI recently purchased two round swivel chairs (Papasan Chairs) and wanted to find a cover for them since they get a lot of direct sun everyday. I originally tried the 44 inch version of this and it worked, but only covered the cushion. I then tried this 60" version and it fits perfectly around the entire chair. Problem solved! Highly recommended!The first one I bought wore out quickly. I never registered it but they honored the warranty. The replacement lasted over 5 years which is good enough for me to come back to buy another. Just keep in mind that it's difficult for any fabric to stand up to the sun for too long. You could spend 3 times as much and there would be no guarantee it would last any longer.This is a great fire pit cover, especially at the price point (I paid mid-20's for it).- Durability: We have had this cover on our fire pit for about 15 months, through two Mid-Atlantic summers, and a winter that saw 36 inches of snow piled on top of it. Our fire pit lives out exposed to the elements except for this cover, and it has stayed dry through all of it. The cover has held up remarkably well. It's made of very tough fabric, which is still quite sturdy and strong, and the elastic underneath is still stretchy and tight.- Ease of use and fit: The cover is easy to put on an take off. we purchased the 44" cover and it fits our 35" round fire pit perfectly, with coverage over the wire domed cover and wrapping down around the bowl of the fire pit. We don't really used the buckles at all. Possibly, if you have a larger fire pit, you'd need the buckles b/c you wouldn't have quite as much wrap around (or buy a larger cover). We have had wind that has knocked our deck chairs all over the place, and this cover stayed put.- Waterproofness - In terms of keeping the fire pit dry (the cover's main job) - it does the job: sometimes, we like to keep a fire laid and ready to go in the fire pit, to save time when we really just need to be making s'mores. This cover lets that happen b/c the wood and kindling, and even the newspaper, stay nice and dry. (LifeProTip - for a great homemade fire starter, stuff dryer lint in toilet-paper rolls and coat in melted candle wax, and let dry. a perfect start, every time)- Appearance: The picture shows the (original) colors of the cover very well. After 15 months, our cover is starting to look a bit worn. It doesn't get a lot of full sun where it is, so I haven't noticed the fading some reviewers have mentioned, but that light tan color on the top does seem to hold onto some darker, streaky stains. This is not that important to me; I sort of like the weathered look,and in all fairness, we have not tried to clean it so it may be that it would clean up and look like new again, so I'm not deducting a star - just wanted to put that out there for those who may be concerned about those things - maybe you'd want to look for a darker color cover, or figure out how to clean it.- Summary Definitely recommend this item if you wish to keep you fire pit dry in all weather, for several seasons in a row.This cover is attractive fit well the only problem I can see is there should be a extra think was in the center because we live in FL and the sun is always on the fire pit and where the handle is it rots through due to sun breaking down the fabric. We have to get a new one in less then two years. Unfortunately we can't move it into the shade because Hurricane Michael took all our trees 3 years agoWe own a large metal firepit, and about 5 years ago we purchased this cover for it. It fit just fine even though it was a bit large. This made no difference, thanks to the buckles for the legs and the cord that is easily cinched down to the perimeter, tightening the cover snugly and securely without problems. Last year (2018) we did not get around to having a fire in our backyard due to the burn ban in our area, so we never uncovered it. After some turbulent weather during those 2018 and 2019, including one microburst, the cover finally showed wear and tear in the form of moss and one large hole in the side where a tree branch must have hit it. We removed the cover and were surprised (and a bit embarrassed) to see the leftover ash from the last fire we had had at least two years prior. It was completely dry and didn't even show signs of having been wet at any time! The metal was still rust-free. Needless to say, we are purchasing the same cover again. I just hope the manufacturer has not changed its supplier and downgraded its quality in the process, but we shall see!Ordered this product to cover a tall outdoor table top. Tabke base is metal and sprayed with rust resistant paint. Only needed to protect the top. This cover just with thru a 12" snow and straight winds of 30-35mph with gusts up to 50mph. Stayed put and did its job!UPDATE: After about a year of use, my Veranda firepit cover developed several tears in the fabric. Since the damage occured well within the warranty period, and the defect is a covered item, I visited the Classic Accessories website and completed a warranty claim form. I was required to provide information from the product tag, as well as to upload a .pdf copy of the invoice and JPEG photo of the defect. A few weeks later, I received a replacement cover in the mail. Classic Accessories does stand behind its product, so order with confidence.I purchased the 60-inch Veranda cover for a 45-inch diameter (round) x 16-inch high firepit constructed of stone.The cover fits snugly over the top of the firepit and down the sides, exposing only 4-inches of the stone. The cover includes buckles that are supposed to wrap around the legs of a traditional metal firepit which are not used in my application, but the cover fits so snugly and can be cinched tighter by the elasticized cord, that the buckles aren't necessary. Overall, I'm pleased with the fit of this cover and it's appearance is much better than the tarp I was using which was held in place with bricks to keep it from flying away, but after only a month, the cover had faded badly, and the dark brown now looks greenish.I ordered this firepit cover for my outdoor firepit which is one of the steel ones sitting inside a concrete block enclosure, so is quite large overall and very difficult to find a cover for that can span the entire thing. Any I found that were wide enough were also ridiculously deep and my firepit is less than a foot high so there would be a huge mass of fabric piled on top. This one is proportionately sized for the type of stone or concrete firepit so it actually fits. The fabric is very heavy-duty and looks like it will outlast the firepit. Great product!Stored indoors in winter and took it on and off maybe 10 times a summer. The canvas is so light weight that it’s word through and shreds at the slightest abrasion. This is not a quality cover to only last 2 years. Very disappointed.Had to order a new one of these as someone accidentally turned on the fire pit and scorched the first one. Water repellent out of the package and quality seems very good. Will see how long the water repellency lasts over the very wet winters we have here in coastal BC.Was unable to find a cover for my unusual sized propane fire table. This was the closest thing that i could find, most would not match the dimensions that great, it was a little bigger so I am able to use it to cover the important parts of the table. Seems to be pretty resilient through our rough snow.I have a beautiful, tiled firepit and this cover does an excellent job of protecting it from the elements. Just bought my second one (to replace the one that was on duty 24/7/365 for 6 years through ice storms, snow storms, rain, sleet, you name it).
